[Elliott sees this and is confused, he remembers the meme he never understood of “f to pay respects”. He wonders who is Dave paying respect to… is this for the people who died?]

David doubts he wouldn't had ever tried to protect Ell with his life, when he didn't stop the fight where they were torturing him. He probably was the target of TODDs. Or maybe he was wrong.] I-I'm so sorry, Elliott. [He says, hugging Elliott again. He thought he should be able to say something better. But he doesn't get better at it the more people die. It just get more desolating.]
Elliott: I feel like... [He looks at Dave and bites his lower lip, his eyes start getting full of tears again] I feel useless... like... I couldn't even react, couldn't do anything... and people are dying, and I don't... I don't... [he holds Dave tighter crying] I want to protect everyone, but I know I can't...
Dani wishes there´s something she could say. To make things better, but she comes up as empty for words as she feels. So instead she just keeps holding on a little tighter, feeling her eyes fill up with tears.
“This fucking sucks…” She eventually mumbles. Not the hug, obviously, that´s the nicest once she´s had in a while. But the rest? Yeah that sucks big time.
Elliott feels the same way, wishes he could properly express it, or at least make Dani take a bit of weight of her shoulders. The situation is crazy.
“I know…” he says trying to find more words “Do you want to…” he starts asking “Do you want to talk about it? I know it’s hard but… I don’t know… it’s like…” he keep saying not really sure how the sentence is going to end “like not talking about it doesn’t work, but talking about it doesn’t help either… so… I guess…” he squeezes her tighter on the hug.
Matt: yeah, i'm here. i was in my room when shit started going down. i just heard the explosions.
Matt: it's fine. he was my friend. and it's fucked up but part of my still thinks of him like that even though he fucking is with the malleus. he came to see me and i don't know why.
Matt: are you? okay? or safe, at least.
Elliott: Are you alright? I mean... you know, after seeing him... did he do anything to you? do you want to talk about it?
Elliott: I'm safe. I'm just... I don't know how I am anymore.
